Spreadsheet tools for small importers

Know what your imports really cost.

The factory price is only the start. Dock & Dollar spreadsheets account for freight, tariffs, customs fees, and selling fees, so you know your true cost per unit, your real profit, and when to reorder.

Works in Excel and Google Sheets · Instant download

TrueLanded SKU View showing landed cost per unit of $38.30, profit per unit of $19.52 and a 24.4% margin

The problem

An $18.75 product can cost you $33.02 by the time it reaches your warehouse.

Once freight, duty layers, and customs fees are added, this sample product costs 76% more than the supplier's price. Most small sellers price from the factory invoice and find out later that the margin was never there.

With Section 301 and new tariffs stacking on top of base duty, guessing gets expensive fast.

Built by an importer

Twenty years of costs, purchase orders, and spreadsheets

9
years in purchasing and logistics
11
years in accounting

I spent nine years in purchasing and logistics for an importer: placing POs with overseas suppliers, planning containers, tracking ETAs, forecasting what to buy, and working out the landed cost of every product. Before that, I spent eleven years in accounting.

Dock & Dollar turns that work into ready-made tools for small sellers who don't have a purchasing department. No subscriptions, no software to learn. Just a spreadsheet that does the math the way a purchasing team would.

Questions

Good to know

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Yes. Upload the file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. Every formula is checked in Google Sheets before each release.

Are tariff rates built in?

No, because they change often. You enter the HTS codes and duty rates for your products, with the date you checked them, and the spreadsheet flags rates you haven't checked recently. Dock & Dollar does not classify products or look up rates. Confirm all HTS codes and tariff rates with a licensed customs broker.

How do I get the file?

Starting in January 2027, buy on Etsy or Gumroad and download it right away. It's a one-time purchase for one business, with no subscription.

Is this customs or tax advice?

No. These are planning tools. Confirm classifications and duty rates with a licensed customs broker.
